Jonathan Nieraad has been working as a freelance translator and editor for translations from German into Hebrew since 1998. He knows the situation of transnational authors well, since he lived in Jerusalem until he moved to Berlin a few years ago. His translations include literary works (including Austerlitz by W.G. Sebald and Letters to Milena by Franz Kafka), scientific works (including Blitzed by Norman Ohler and writings on women’s rights by Bertha Pappenheim) as well as translations for Yad Vaschem and Israeli state television.
