Our offers for February

From self-publishing and self-marketing to tips and tricks for finding an agency and publisher to questions about the Künstersozialkasse (KSK) – our experts will be covering a wide range of topics during our upcoming consultation days in February.

What should I look out for in a press release? How can I position myself as a writer? Why is networking so important? How can I use the potential of Instagram for my book? On February 5th, communications consultant Alexandra Helena Becht will answer your individual questions about self-promotion and PR for authors.

On February 12th, Axel Haase, who has specialized in fiction and non-fiction in his many years of work as a literary agent and can advise you in German or English about manuscript submissions, cover letters, synopses and the like, will answer your questions about finding an agency and publisher. One day later, on February 13, author, translator and kookbooks publisher Daniela Seel will be giving advice on finding an agency or publisher, especially in the field of poetry.

Our expert Lucy Jones, a translator and author who has been working as a freelancer in Germany for around 30 years, knows what the Künstlersozialkasse is all about, how to become a member and how you should proceed to become self-employed as a freelancer. On February 20, she will answer your questions about the KSK.

Are you toying with the idea of self-publishing a book and don’t know exactly how to go about it? Adam Fletcher knows his stuff and can explain how to design an appealing eBook, what makes a successful book cover, how print on demand works and how you should go about positioning your book in bookstores. On February 25, he will be advising authors in English on the topic of self-publishing.

Our consultations take place (depending on the consultant) either via Zoom or in person in our consultation room at Kolonnenstr. 26. You can register here.

We hope to see you at one of our consultation appointments in the coming weeks.
