5th and 7th of May 2021, Multilingual Advisement Days: Work Stipends for literature in languages other than German

On May 11th, 6 p.m., the application deadline for the Work Stipend for Berlin-based authors that write in languages other than German will end. Applying for grants can often be complicated. The more so if you try your luck the first time. What is the most important thing about writing an application letter? How does a jury make its decision? To answer questions like these, we set up multilingual advisement days on May 5th (10 a.m.) and 7th (4 p.m.) via Zoom video conferencing. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to discuss your ideas and projects with our consultants. The advisement sessions last approximately 90 minutes.

At the beginning of each consultation, a general Q&A session will be held in English. After that, we will split the meeting into breakout-rooms to enable advisement in smaller groups. Each room is reserved for a specific language. On Wednesday, May 5th, Katy Derbyshire, Odile Kennel and Matthias Nawrat can advise you in English, French or Polish. On Friday, May 7th, Charlotte Bomy, Romy Brühwiler, Paula Fürstenberg and Anastasia Gorokhova offer help in French, Russian or Spanish.

To sign up for one of the advisement sessions, please fill in the form and select the day you prefer, as well as your language: https://www.literaturszene.berlin/en/multilingual-advisement-day/. As usual, the consultation will be free of charge.

For the fifth time, the Berlin Senate grants the Work Stipends. Ten stipends are available for a period of usually twelve months in the year 2022. Each stipend is worth 24.000 €, which will probably be paid in twelve monthly installments of 2.000 € each.  The work stipends available under this programme are awarded to support the artistic development of professional authors. The purpose of the scholarship is to enrich Berlin’s literary scene through the promotion and support of innovative texts and authors. The application must be submitted online. More information regarding the eligibility and criteria to be found here: INFO

Please note: Lettrétage e. V. (Projekt schreiben & leben) does not grant any stipends. We are only offering some free advisement in order to help you with questions related to the application. If you have any technical question regarding the online application etc., please contact the Berlin Senate: CONTACT
