Consultation Days in November

The consultation dates for next month are all set! This November, our experienced freelancers from the independent literature scene will once again be offering free, informative advice on numerous topics of the industry. The individual consultations are currently still held by telephone or GDPR-compliant video chat.

In the beginning of the month, on November 4th Julia Balogh will give advice on questions concerning publishing and licensing agreements. As head of the rights & licence department at Ueberreuter Verlag she is very familiar with such legal matters. On the 5th of November another session  will take place for editors. Claudia Lüdtke is co-founder of the editorial office “Der springende Punkt” and has worked for clients such as Cornelsen, National Geographic and zitty. She can give you a detailed introduction to the field of editorial work and explain various networking opportunities. Authors with questions about the search for an agency should not miss the opportunity to talk to Axel Haase on November 11th.  As co-founder of the literary agency Herbach & Haase, he is well acquainted with the close cooperative relationship between author and agency and is gladly available to answer any questions on the subject.

In the second half of the month there will be a day dedicated to the artists social insurance fund (KSK). Anyone who would like to find out more about the admission criteria or the advantages and disadvantages of entry, should be sure to make an appointment with Lena Müller on the 13th of November. The next session with Odile Kennel on November 18th will focus on stipends as well as networks for translators and authors. Kennel is a freelance writer and translator and was awarded among others scholarships from the Stiftung preußische Seehandlung and the Berlin Senate. Afterwards, on the 24th of November, comic authors will have the opportunity to discuss all their questions about possible opportunities and stipends in this field with Thomas Henseler. Finally, in this month of November, Andreas Jandl will talk to you on the 25th about getting started in literary translation and the use of translation software while Rabea Edel will advise you on the subject of exposé and stipends on the 26th.

We would be very pleased to welcome you to our consultations. Please note that prior registration is always required for participation in a consultation.
