Eva Profousová (born 1963 in Prague) has lived in Germany since 1983 and translates contemporary Czech literature (e.g. Jáchym Topol, Radka Denemarková und Jaroslav Rudiš). She advocates increasing the visibility of literary translators (she was a co-founder of www.weltlesebühne.de) and for showcasing eastern Euroean culture (www.postkartell.org); she organises readings, discusses new releases, reads and moderates.
