Karla Montasser (Poet and Project Coordinator)

Karla Reimert Montasser, born 1972 in Berlin, lives there as a poet and project coordinator. She has received many awards for her work, including the Würth Prize and the Essay Prize from the Japanese Embassies. She studied general and comparative literature, English and Romance languages as well as comparative religious studies in Berlin, Potsdam and Moscow. She is co-founder of the KOOK label, board member of KOOK e.V., organiser of reading events and literature projects, e.g. https://www.mikrotext.de/book/cloudpoesie-dichtung-fuer-die-vernetzte-gesellschaft/. She is also hza — certified adult educator and communication trainer. As a freelance organisational and management consultant at SPM 2000, she worked for 12 years for Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Telekom, Eventim, the Berlin Senate, the ZLB and as a manager of cultural processes for institutions. Since 2018, she has been responsible for the department of poetic education at the Haus für Poesie and, within this framework, for the training, the participatory programme, the school courses and all cultural education projects.
