Thomas Henseler studied design at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences with a focus on illustration and animation at the “Konrad Wolf” Film University of Babelsberg-Potsdam. After his studies he founded “Zoom und Tinte Buddenberg und Henseler GbR” together with Susanne Buddenberg and specialized in sequential illustration. He teaches and gives workshops in political and cultural education. From 2014 -2016 Thomas Henseler was substitute professor in the field of “Design Basics” at the University of Applied Sciences Münster, Department of Design.
In 2011 “Grenzfall”, the first graphic novel, was published. Further history comics with a focus on GDR history followed: “BERLIN – Geteilte Stadt” (2012), “Tunnel 57: Eine Fluchtgeschichte als Comic” (2013) and “GDR – Geschichte zum Einkleft” (2015). In March 2020 the fifth book, the comic adaptation “Meine freie deutsche Jugend” will be published by Ch. Links Verlag.
