Awareness Industry Meetup: Literature 2024

We have set up awareness support for the entire Industry meetup: Literature 2024. Our internal awareness person is Betty Kapun, and we have appointed Yolanda Rother (she/her) from The Impact Company as an external awareness person.

Awareness reports are treated confidentially and anonymously and can be submitted at awareness@theimpactcompany.de.

Code of Conduct of Lettrétage e. V.

We want to create a place where solidarity and open exchange take centre stage and where everyone can have a good time. Together, we want to create a space where everyone feels accepted and respected. We therefore do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment or aggression at our events and reserve the right to exclude people from the event if necessary.

By entering the venue, you agree to give others their space and not to discriminate against or harass others.

If you are being harassed or discriminated against, notice that another person is being harassed or discriminated against, have other concerns or believe that a visitor is not complying with the rules of behaviour, please contact our awareness team. We treat every complaint confidentially and do everything we can to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and safe at the event. It is also not the responsibility of affected persons to educate people who discriminate against others.

In the workshops and sessions, we ask you to make sure that everyone has their say, that your speeches do not take up too much space and that they remain on the topic of the respective event. Please treat the other participants with respect, even if you disagree with them.

What is normal for you is not necessarily normal for everyone else. Words and actions can be hurtful, even if they were not meant in a “bad” way. We recognise that we are all different and have individual perspectives. We try to understand other people’s perspectives and ask you to refrain from generalisations and stereotypes.

Please try to use gender-sensitive language and use the pronouns preferred by the other person (these can be found on the name badges, you can also ask if necessary).

If certain topics arouse unpleasant feelings for people or have a triggering effect, we stand by the person together and remind ourselves and you that everyone has different experiences and therefore reacts differently to sensitive topics or micro-aggressions, for example.

If you would like to take and post a photo/video of participants, please ask for permission. Not everyone wants to be pictured on the internet and what is uploaded once will remain there forever.

We evaluate the effectiveness of our policy after each event and try to correct any weaknesses. If you have any suggestions, you can contact us at any time – also anonymously via the feedback form that we will send you after the industry meetup, or to the awareness team as an independent body.

Thank you very much!
