We have once again planned a wide range of consultation days for you in October. Over the next few weeks, you will have the opportunity to ask our experts your questions about self-publishing, cultural education, finding agencies and publishers, networking, accounting, literary translation, and podcasts on a total of seven consultation days.
Erec Schumacher kicks off the month on October 2 with a consultation day on project development and self-publishing, focusing on experimental literature. Unfortunately, all appointments for this consultation day are already fully booked.
How do I plan a project in literary or poetic education? How do I work with schools? Where can I get financial support? Karla Montasser will answer these and other questions about cultural education on October 7. She will also give tips on general orientation in Berlin’s literary scene. There are currently only waiting list places available for this consultation day.
Unfortunately, the English-language consultation day with Jaida Temperly on October 9 on finding agencies and editors in the UK and US is also already fully booked.
What are some effective methods for building a successful network in the literary field? What steps should I take to create a compelling personal brand as a freelance literary professional? What specific approaches are there for community marketing in the literary environment? Networking expert Yvonne de Andrés will be available to answer your questions on October 14.
What does proper accounting look like? What should you pay attention to? Taxes: how do they work? On October 21, Eva Stelzer will be available to answer your questions about the basics of accounting. Please note: Due to professional restrictions, she is not permitted to offer tax advice.
Literary translators and those who want to become one can ask Katharina Schmidt and Barbara Neeb any questions they may have about the profession on October 23.
And anyone thinking about starting their own podcast should definitely take the opportunity to get advice from experienced producer and podcaster Susan Stone on October 28.
Depending on the advisor, consultations take place either via Zoom or on site in our consultation room at Kolonnenstraße 26. Appointments for individual consultation days can be booked approximately two weeks in advance.
