Our offers for September

After a short summer break, we are pleased to announce our programme for September. We are starting right away with three consultation days on different topics and will be part of BuchBerlin with a stand in the second half of September.

Consultation days

On Thursday, 5 September, Sonja Laaser will be giving advice on the artists’ social security fund and setting up an association. As a specialist lawyer for copyright and media law, she has been advising clients from the arts and creative scene for many years, including in the area of the KSK, and is also a member of its advisory board for the performing arts.

On Friday, 6 September, our comic expert Thomas Henseler will be advising all Berlin comic authors: You can still apply for the Berlin Senate’s comic work scholarships until 19 September. As a successful illustrator and comic author, Thomas Henseler knows what is important when applying, how best to present your own project and how to connect with the scene.

On Wednesday, 11 September, Alexandra Becht will be giving advice on self-marketing and PR. As a PR manager and founder of her own communications agency for music and entertainment, she has gone through the entire process of solo self-employment and self-marketing and is happy to pass on her experience. What is important in a press release? How do you position yourself as a writer? Why is networking so important?

All consultations take place via Zoom. You can register here.

BuchBerlin

On 21 and 22 September, the independent literary scene will come together at the Berlin book fair BuchBerlin. Over 300 independent publishers and authors from all over Germany will present their programmes and books in the Arena Berlin and around 50 writers will read from their latest novels. This year, we will once again be offering brief consultations for authors and other solo self-employed writers at the fair. We will answer questions on all aspects of literary freelancing, for example on topics such as finding a publisher or agency, self-publishing, grants and the KSK. On both days, interested parties can simply come to our stand and talk to us or with our experts.

We look forward to you seeing you soon – maybe at the BuchBerlin?
