Barcamp on 9 May 2026

What’s on your mind right now? What do you think deserves more discussion? What would you like to share with others? The Industry Meetup Barcamp is a conference where you help decide what gets discussed. There are no set topics—anything that more than two freelance literary professionals in attendance want to talk about can be a session.

Many of us aren’t even aware of how much knowledge, how many skills, and how much expertise we accumulate over the course of our professional lives—whether through targeted continuing education or seminars, or even just along the way, almost by chance. What topics interest you? And what topics, questions, or areas of expertise have you perhaps familiarized yourself with lately? What experiences have you had that might also be of interest to other literary freelancers? It can be a rewarding experience to realize that you truly have something to share. The Industry Meetup Barcamp is the perfect place to give this a try. No one here expects a perfect presentation; rather, all session participants are encouraged to contribute what they can to the topic.

9 May 2026, 10am-6pm | Industry Meetup: Literature Barcamp
Refugio, Lenaustraße 3-4,12047 Berlin-Neukölln

Moderation: Lara Sielmann & Katy Derbyshire
Language: German & English
Lunch and childcare included

If you already have an idea for a session that you’d like to share with the other Barcamp participants, please feel free to send us a brief outline via email to mm@lettretage.de. A title and a few lines are all we need. We look forward to your ideas. You can also propose sessions spontaneously on-site.

And don’t forget to register for the Barcamp (which is, of course, possible even without a session proposal):

Have you never attended a Barcamp before and are hesitant to take the plunge? Don’t worry—on May 9, there will be a short introductory workshop before the actual Barcamp begins, for which you can register separately:

09:30-10:00am | How does Barcamping work?
Newbie Session with Dr. Valeska Henze

Of course, you can also still register for the rest of the events on the agenda for our three-day Industry Meetup. Participation in all programme events is free of charge upon prior registration. A separate registration is required for each individual event.
